For the past eleven years we have provided outerwear to Bow Valley children who have been referred to us by schools, churches and agencies within our community. We began by seeking donations of gently-used winter wear from the community and trying to match those donations to the children in need of coats. Thanks to very generous donations over the years, this initiative as grown immensely. Because of business sponsors, and individuals we’ve been able to purchase brand new items for kids, not only to keep them warm, but to provide the ability to participate in outdoor activities.
Many parents who work at jobs that provide services that are essential in our community - grocery stores, gas stations and hotels - are nding it increasingly more di cult to manage in the face of increasing rent, fuel costs, food prices, and high utility bills. These families have told us how thankful they are that we are able to bring together community support for programs like Jacket Frost and to know that people care about them and their children.
